Based on Philip K Dick's "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?" this is a stunning visual account of man's struggle for survival in the 21st Century, a time when robot life forms are beginning to surpass humans in not just intelligence but emotions, raising questions about our concepts of self. BLADE RUNNER: WORKPRINT (1982)

A chance for fans of the Bladerunner experience (and aren't we all?) to see the first ever cut of Ridley Scott's dystopian masterpiece. This workprint represents the pre-theatrical release version that offers some alternative footage and includes the voice-over narration long absent from DVD and video. An interesting companion to the final, original and director's cuts.

DAFT PUNK'S ELECTROMA (2006)
Certification15 Our Rating
The boys behind Daft Punk move into experimental art house cinema with this their directorial debut about two robots (oh yes) on a quest to become human. An intriguing, though perhaps not entirely successful, labour of love that, though with a frustratingly small amount of their own fine music, boasts an excellent soundtrack from Mayfield, Eno, Haydn and Chopin. A cinematographically beautiful midnight movie.

A highly advanced killing machine is brought back from a radioactive wasteland in a state of disrepair. It ends up in a young woman's kitchen where it starts to rebuild itself from household appliances. Adapted from the '2000 AD' comic 'SHOK! Walter's Robo-Tale', this is a critically acclaimed post-nuclear sci-fi thriller with plenty of atmosphere and a great cameo from Motorhead's Lemmy.

Visually stunning Japanese cyber-punk nightmare destined to become a cult classic in the mould of Eraserhead. The disjointed story follows the descent into madness of a metal-fetishist who, after a car accident, mutates into a metal/flesh cyborg. Surreal, bizarre and tragic, you will be unnerved!
